He also places implants to replace missing teeth. He has a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, and he received his education in periodontics from Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine. Originally from California and Utah, Dr. Hofer lives in Centereach, and he joined the practice in 2012. Besides having a doctoral degree in dentistry, Dr. Hofer has a post-doctoral degree in Periodontics. Prior to coming to our practice, Dr. Hofer worked for a company that provided medical care and supplies to Medicare patients and a private practice in New Jersey.
Hofer scored in the top 1% on the national in-service examination administered by the American Academy of Periodontics. He's a member of the American Academy of Periodontics, Academy of Osseointegration, Northeastern Society of Periodontists, and Hambletonian Study Club. Dr. Hofer takes time to listen carefully to individual concerns of patients and aims to tailor treatment according to individual conditions instead of trying to implement a "one size fits all" approach.
During his free time, Dr. Hofer enjoys the outdoors, tennis, playing the guitar, and musical production. He is married and comes from a large family -- five brothers and three sisters -- who mostly live in the western states.
